I recently purchased and brought up a new ROG Strix X570-E motherboard. After initial Windows installation I proceeded with board-specific drivers. Everything looked ok until I checked the Device Manager which indicated an error on Other Unknown Device. Here are the basic details reported in the Device Manager entry.
Device Manager:
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
There are no compatible drivers for this device.
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.
Device Instance Path: SWD\DRIVERENUM\<1B98EF90-CA0E-11E7-8F1A-0800200C9A66>#AVOLUTESS3VAD&6&25AD6B79&2
Hardware Ids: ROOT\AVoluteSS3Vad
Parent: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_1168&SUBSYS_104387C5& REV_1001\5&590aa42&0&0001
I believe the sequence of events were such that this error occurred after the Realtek driver install. It took me a bit to think to look at the Hardware Ids to confirm the «unknown» device was related to the Realtek driver package, and specifically the AVolute piece. Looking back at the driver install files I see AVolute elements but don’t know exactly what made it in during the install. Today, while waiting for my forum registration to settle out, I got a Windows Update notice that an A-Volute update was pending. After researching the connection to the Realtek package I proceeded with the update. To my dismay this did not fix the Device Manager perceived error. Everything appears to function, including what I’ve tested so far about the audio subsystem.
I would appreciate any thoughts regarding if I’m on the right track, have the correct missing pieces, and how to resolve this error. I suppose I could let this dangling error persist, but I’ve had some weird things happen with Windows Update with similar seemingly benign errors. I would like to resolve this before going any further with my updates and software installs.
Thanks in advance for any ideas.

You have an ASUS ROG SS3|DTS Sound Unbound motherboard Gen1, so :
Follow scrupulously your CLEANUP process then your INSTALL process, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow your UPDATE process.

Sonic Studio Virtual Mixer
I installed the latest drivers and now I have some Sonic Studio Virtual Mixer along with my other audio devices. I have never had this before. I tried to uninstall it but It doesn’t exist in the app listing or Program Files. Why it did stealth install on my comp? I think we should have a choice what to install what not. Please help me remove this Virtual Mixer thing. My mobo: Asus ROG STRIX Z390-E Gaming and I installed the drivers with Install_ROG_SS3.cmd as advised. Thank You.

there are links on page 1 of this thread
t is set automatically. but after these drivers they are not present
As previously explained, SSVM is no longer included/used in your drivers package, so download the new/updated drivers package then follow scrupulously your INSTALL process with cleanup step, for the next drivers packages that I would release, you will can directly follow the UPDATE process.
Thank you very much I did a full cleanup, downloaded new updated version of the drivers, installed it and now it is all gucci Virtual mixer is gone and sound works as intended. The only change I noticed is that now when I use GoXlr mixer connected via usb when I open Realtek Audio Console or HD Manager, they are blank and it says «You are seeing a blank page because there is no audio devices plugged in the system. To activate GUI, please plug an audio device in the system» When I plug in my headphones directly to my pc front audio jack then the Audio Console and HD manager are populated. In the previous versions I could see both consoles populated even when I had everything routed vis GoXLR mixer since I use it as my main audio device. GoXLR is an audio device and it’s plugged in the system so I don’t understand why I get this message now. Anyway Thx for the updated drivers

I just installed the last update from the ASUS site and the virtual mixer is gone, but I would like to have a decent mixer.. The basic one doesn’t seem to do much.
Does anyone know what the AsusUpdateCheck.exe or AsusDownloadLicense.exe is that I am seeing with my Z490 board in the Win 10 Insiders Build? It is in the Windows\System32 folder but it is not on my Z370 board with the public build..
Launch «Install_ROG_SS3.cmd» by right-click Run as admin > Automatic restart when install is done
— Automatic installation of Realtek Audio Control after rebooting
After reboot i dont have realtek audio console installed.
if not, install it manually
I say this, because a have not the MS store installed.
ROOT\NET\0000 —
ROOT\NET\0000 —
(Safe Mode).
DevID Agent:
Let’s Encrypt – https://community.letsencrypt.org/t/help-thread-for-dst-root-ca-x3-expiration-september-2021/149190/3
