To interrupt normal startup press the blue thinkvantage button что делать
I recently update BIOS for my Thinkpad T440p.
I got the same problem. «Interrup when press Enter key» haven’t appeared. It only appears when I restart my PC, and I also get a message «Initial Intel boot argent. » during starting windows.
Can you help me to bring it back?

A Windows «feature» is doing this. Normally «fast boot» in windows flies past the interrupt screen unless you force a full shutdown. Press the shift key before hitting shutdown and hold until it is off to force a full shutdown.

I honestly don’t have any experience with the T440P.
But having had my own problems with the «to interrupt normal startup press ENTER» message after BIOS update on my P70, the first thing I’d recommend you try is to RESET BIOS TO DEFAULT (in the EXIT tab, probably). Then you can re-change any of the Setup settings you might want to change, but starting from a clean slate. This BIOS reset which sets all settings back to default values clears out anything residual which may have ended up in NVRAM from a previous BIOS version, or who knows what.
As far as the «Intel boot agent» message, I think that is tied to «wake on LAN» option. If you disable that option in BIOS I believe this message may go away. At least that’s been my experience with many other Lenovo machines.
«To interrupt normal startup, press Enter» message will not be displayed when system resume from Hibernate or system boot in Fast startup of Windows 10.
«I nitial Intel boot argent. » message is displayed when network boot is attempted by BIOS.

I have a P73 that just arrived and I was struggling with this same issue. Your solution worked perfectly and is much appreciated.

Не могу зайти в систему, начала выскакивать надпись «To interrupt normal startup, press Enter».
Пробовал всё возможное нажимать, всё равно не пускает. И настройки BIOS сбрасывал и диск с виндой ставлю, вроде начинает загружать и повисает.
Это случилось помойму после сброса по дефаулту BIOS и вроде я пробовал удерживать кнопку питания в течении 2 минут без питания и батареи.
Помогите пожалуйста как быть, не знаю как одивить его.

This message that is supposed to appear at the start of each bootup is not showing up when I reboot after a complete shut down. Expectedly, pressing Enter doesn’t do anything, as the system progresses to a normal Windows startup. And still, for whatever reason, the message does appear if I do a Restart and if I press Enter it effectively interrupts its normal start up.
This may not account as a major deal, of course, but being a brand new machine (just over three months old) it raises a concern, besides being an annoyance.
Can someone please provide any idea about possible causes?

What you describe is entirely normal for Windos 8 and later when fast startup is enabled.
What you call «complete shutdown» is more like hibernation, and it isn’t safe to make BIOS changes or boot an alternate device in that state.
When you select restart what you get is actually more like old-school full shutdown and startup. You can also do a SHIFT+shutdown to get a complete shutdown without doing a restart.

I’m not looking at the BIOS of my P70 at this moment, so I can’t tell you the exact words to look for.
But I suggest you «reset BIOS to defaults», which will put everything in the machine back to factory initial values. Then you can re-customize anything you want to customize.
In particular the handling of the ENTER key to interrupt the boot process (and present the intermediate menu with your choices of ESC, F1, F12, etc.) can ben negatively impacted by unwanted residual data in NVRAM perhaps left over from earlier BIOS updates. When you «reset BIOS to defaults» you are wiping everything clean, clearing out any residual unwanted garbage, and almost certainly solving your ENTER anomaly issues at boot time.
Give that a try. If you don’t know what to look for in the BIOS, let me know and I’ll check on my P70 for the exact tab and wording on which the «BIOS reset to defaults» function is. (maybe on the final «save» tab?)

Right on target, Zoltan. Yes, indeed, if I do a Shift+Shutdown click, I always get the message, the same way I get it when I just click on Restart. If I just click on the Shutdown button, there will be no message.

Now what you have to do is full power off and the del and f12 button multiple times if it doesn’t work after a minute full power off and try again. The f12 has to be after the del so that it will take you straight into the bios. Once you in the bios load defaults and the message shouds stop hanging now. And you should be able to boot.

Under Windows 10, you can always enter the UEFI (BIOS) firmware by entering a » shutdown /fw /r /t 60 » command from an elevated Command Prompt. This causes the computer to restart in 60 seconds and go directly into the firmware settings.

Solution for my laptop P51s.
After talking lenovo support it was suggested to do the following pin hole reset.
— remove battery & after removing battery look for a pin hole
— pin hole will be in the ‘center most’ part of the backend of the laptop
— insert a pin, press button down for 15 seconds then release
— i tried this twice as it seem to not resolve anything, so i turned laptop off.
— i left he laptop alone for about 15 minutes
— then when i turned the laptop back on «like magic»
— the laptop booted up to windows just fine.. with not side effects.
i attribute the fix to the «pin hole» reset button.

This is how I solved the problem on a Lenovo Thinkpad T580 using Windows 10, I find this solution on another forum:
— Press the Windows logo key + X on your keyboard and then select Power Options from the drop-down menu.
— This will take you to the Power and Sleep settings. From there, click on Additional Power Settings.
— This will open up a Power Options menu. From there, click on Choose what the power button does
— This will open up a Power Options system settings menu. At the bottom, there are Shutdown Settings
— By default, the Shutdown settings options are greyed out. Click on “ Change settings that are currently unavailable ” to unlock the greyed out options.
— Now you can check / uncheck the “Turn on fast startup option” to enable / disable the fast startup feature.
— Click the Save changes button.
After I followed these steps, the «To interrupt normal startup, press Enter» boot option returned

Im having the same issue with a Lenovo E570.
Tried everithing like draining the backup battery to re-attempt the process.
Remove Hardisk, even unplugging cmos battery, not worked.
Can not enter the bios. very frustrating

Hi,
I’m guessing you’d be a good person to ask. I’ve just bought a second hand
Lenovo X380
but it’s:
not letting me change the boot order, so I can’t put Linux on it and it appears;
and,
I also can’t partition the drives as there seems to be some kind of lock on allowing programs from running that ‘could have’ viruses on them, which I can’t change.
How can I reset it to defaults? How else might I attempt to change the boot order?
This was an ex-work one, and they ‘wiped’ but it eems that it’s still got a parental restructionesque control on doing anything like you have when you’re at work.
Anyway, I did look and there are instructions of how to put Ubuntu on this exact computer, obnly the instructions aren’t compatible with the software that’s on here so it won’t work.
Any help of any kind much appreciated.
