Конгресс США должен покончить с диверсификационной визовой лотереей грин-карт и прекратить цепную миграцию в Америку. К этому президент США Дональд Трамп призвал в пятницу в ходе выступления перед выпускниками Академии Федерального бюро расследования, пишет Голос Америки.
Ежегодно десятки тысяч украинцев подаются на грин-карту. По данным Госдепа, в 2014 году 6 тысяч украинцев получили заветный статус, а в 2015-м – 4679.
Последние реплики президента были связаны с недавними терактами в Нью-Йорке, исполнители которых, как сообщалось, попали в США в одном случае через визовую лотерею, а в другом – как близкий родственник человека, который иммигрировал в Америку и получила статус гражданина или резидента.
Акаед Улла, исполнитель недавнего взрыва на Манхэттене в Нью-Йорке – обладатель “зеленой карты” – прибыл из Бангладеш в США в 2011 году с родителями и тремя-четырьмя братьями и сестрами, после того, как его тетя и дядя выступили спонсорами для семьи.
Сайфулла Саипов, подозреваемый в убийстве 8 человек на улицах Нью-Йорка в октябре, прибыл в США в 2010 году из Узбекистана, получив разрешение на постоянное проживание в США по результатам визовой лотереи.
“Представьте себе лотерею, чтобы оказаться в США. Людей выбирают по результатам лотереи. Думаете, из других стран к нам попадают лучшие? Нет! Ну что это за система? Люди прибывают, выиграв в лотерею”, – возмутился президент США в ходе выступления перед выпускниками правоохранительной академии.
“Мы получаем худших из этих стран – они оказываются в лототроне, а уже оттуда – вытягивается худший из всех. И вот этот человек слышит: “Поздравляем! Ты отправляешься в Соединенные Штаты”, – так обрисовал процесс получения вида на жительство по результатам визовой лотереи Трамп. Слова президента собравшиеся встретили смехом.
“Мы призываем Конгресс покончить с цепной миграцией в США и диверсификационной лотереей и заменить ее системой иммиграции, которая будет предоставлять преференции лицам, имеющим необходимые для США навыки и квалификации”, – подчеркнул президент США.
По своей сути, диверсификационная лотерея правительства США была разработана, чтобы разнообразить поток иммигрантов в США из стран с низким уровнем эмиграции в Америку. Страна, которая отправляет более 50 000 иммигрантов в Соединенные Штаты в течение предыдущих пяти лет, удаляется из списка участников.
Победа в лотерее не означает автоматическое получение “зеленой карты”. Как победитель, вы становитесь претендентом на статус постоянного жителя, для получения которой необходимо осуществить несколько шагов, важнейшим из которых является прохождение собеседования в американском консульстве. Не все из отобранных претендентов получат визы. Если вам дадут эту визу, то только после приезда в США вы получите удостоверение постоянного жителя, который в народе называют “зеленой картой”.
