Vita student что это
Any person who will turn 18 within the year they live with us and is a student enrolled with an educational institution can live with Vita Student at any of our developments across the UK.
If I am doing an internship/placement year or part time course, am I allowed to live with Vita Student?
Yes, as long as you are still registered as a student and your placement is part of your degree/course then you can still live with Vita Student.
How do I book?
Booking your studio is easy! The booking process is four simple steps and takes less than 10 minutes to complete.
You will need to find your location first and then select the room you want to book.
What is the booking process?
Our four step booking process is easy. Simply:
How much is the Advanced License Fee?
To secure your accommodation, you’ll need to pay a 2 Weeks Advanced License Fee at the point of booking. This fee covers you for your first two weeks stay with us and is deducted from the total amount due. The license fee amount differs depending on the price of the room you pick, and this will be shown at the point of booking.
What is your cancellation policy?
22/23 Academic Year
You can cancel free of charge:
Outside of these terms, in order to cancel you must organise a replacement student to take over your contract and take over the liability for the License Fee (and you will still be responsible for all payments until a replacement is found). For the avoidance of doubt, if at any point you have checked in to your booking, you are no longer eligible to cancel free of charge and must find a replacement student.
If your cancellation request is accepted for one of the above reasons, any Advance Licence Fee Payment will be fully refunded to the account from which it was paid.
Once you have booked and the 5 days has elapsed (or 48 hours after 25th May 2022), you are bound into a legal licence agreement which requires you to pay for the full period of the licence agreement. We suggest if you are unsure about exam results, receiving your visa or other condition on you attending University that you contact us to discuss on +44(0)203 096 1717.
21/22 Academic Year
With all bookings for the 21/22 academic year we offered a 5-day cooling off period from the date of booking if your accommodation was booked prior to 25th May 2021. After 25th May 2021, the cooling off period became 48 hours from booking. You are not able to cancel your booking if you have checked in to your room and are required to find a replacement student to take over your contract.
Can I transfer my booking to a different Vita Student development?
It is possible to transfer your booking and Advance License Fee over to another building but you will need to go through the booking process again to select your accommodation in the new building. Our team will be more than happy to have a conversation with you about the process to make it as easy as possible. Please be aware that an administration charge may be applicable.
What happens if my loan doesn’t get paid on time and I can’t pay my instalment before the due date?
If you choose to pay by instalments and are reliant on a student loan, you are still responsible for making the payments on time according to the payment schedule within the signed contract.
Do you allow short term lets?
We have some studios available with shorter contracts in our residences across the UK. Perfect if you are only studying for a term at a time or on a language course that lasts a few months.
To find out more, please contact the team on +44(0)203 096 1717 and we will try to find something suitable for you.
What happens if I can’t make my payment on time?
Talk to us! We will always work with you to find the best way for you to make your payment. It may be possible to change instalment plans or change your licence agreement to adapt to your requirements. Please contact the Customer Engagement Team on customerengagement@vitastudent.com for more information. Please state your booking reference (VITA REF) and details of the issues you’re experiencing on the email.
What are my payment options?
For all 22/23 academic year booking you have two different options when deciding how to pay your license fee:
For all 21/22 academic year bookings, payment is now required in advance in full within 48-hours of making the booking.
Can I leave early and get the remainder of my license fee back?
Unfortunately, you are committed under the license period to pay the full license fee. We may have a waiting list of people that would like to take over your booking which would then relinquish you from your contract. We cannot refund your license fee until a replacement is found to take over your booking.
To cancel your booking, please contact the Customer Engagement Team on customerengagement@vitastudent.com. Please state your booking reference (VITA REF) on the email. Please ask your replacement student to contact us and state your booking reference (VITA REF).
Can I move in early?
Can I view a studio?
Absolutely – the best way to see what we’re all about is to come down and see for yourself. Not only can we do in-person viewings, but if you’re overseas we can also host remote viewings. Please get in touch here or contact our sales team on +44(0)203 096 1717 so we can get you booked in.
When is your show apartment open?
We are very flexible with viewings and will allow customers to tour our residences at any hour of the day, seven days a week.
If you would like to view the room and communal space at Vita Student, either call us on +44(0)203 096 1717 or go to:
Do you allow couples to stay / visit?
We love having couples live in our accommodation and it’s ideal if you want to share the license fee with someone else. There is a 20% price increase to cover the additional usage of electricity and water, internet and wear and tear to the accommodation and communal spaces. The Advance License Fee remains the same for two people sharing a room.
Please contact the Customer Engagement Team on customerengagement@vitastudent.com if you would like to add an additional occupant to your booking. Please state your booking reference (VITA REF), the additional occupant’s name and the date the additional occupant would like to move in and out on the email.
Do I have to share my kitchen/bathroom in a studio?
Not at all! All our self-contained studios have an ensuite bathroom and kitchen area within the apartment. There is a communal student area outside of your studio that has individual and group study spaces, pool tables, gym facility and relaxation and social вЂzones’ for you to enjoy whenever you need a break from university work!
As a disabled person I have specific requirements for my living needs, can Vita Student cater for these?
We make every effort to ensure that our accommodation is accessible for all and we will always do everything we can to find you suitable accommodation.
All Vita Student buildings have step-free/level access. We can provide information on the availability of disabled parking for customers, there are accessible WC’s in the communal areas for visitors and a hearing loop at reception.
Adaptations can be made to our studios including grabrail provision in bathrooms, stair lifts in accessible duplex apartments, visual fire alarms and assisted door opening devices if required.
If you have any specific accessibility requirements, please contact the us on +44(0)203 096 1717 or drop us an email at hello@vitastudent.com.
Information can also be made available in alternative formats e.g. large print and braille.
What bills do I need to pay?
All utility bills (gas, water and electricity), super-fast Wi-Fi and contents insurance for your belongings are included. Your fortnightly cleaning service and grab and go breakfast every weekday is also included in your license fee.
You are responsible for the purchase of a TV license if you intend to watch or record live terrestrial TV programmes or use BBC iPlayer, even if you have been provided with a TV by Vita Student. If you do not wish to purchase a TV license you will need to complete a TV license exemption form which will be available from your Vita Student accommodation team.
For further information, visit www.tvlicensing.co.uk.
Is bedding included within the room?
Bedding is not included as standard in your room. You can purchase a starter pack which includes kitchen utensils, bedding and more. All items will be waiting for you in your room when you arrive.
If you order one of our premium Vita Packs, you’ll get this delivered to your studio in time for your move in date – leaving you less to pack, and less to go out and buy in the shops.
Are there fridges included in the rooms?
Yes – every studio and apartment has a fridge with a freezer compartment.
Do I need to bring any furniture?
All our apartments come complete with high quality furnishings that provide ample storage and comfort. Because of fire restrictions, you are not allowed to bring your own furniture or large appliances (e.g. fridge, heater, air-conditioner) with you.
Are there kitchen facilities in my room?
All of our studios will include a combination microwave oven/grill, a ceramic hob, a sink, a fridge with freezer compartment, and storage space for your food. If you’re staying in one of our cluster rooms then these appliances will be in the shared kitchen.
Do I need to bring my own saucepans, plates, cutlery, etc?
Well that’s up to you! If you want to bring your own equipment then there is plenty of storage space but we also offer excellent starter packs for a one off cost which includes all of the kitchen and apartment essentials you will need and will be waiting for you in your room on arrival.
Don’t forget to order your bedding, bathroom, kitchen and living essentials for your studio. If you order one of our premium Vita Packs, you’ll get this delivered to your studio in time for your move in date – leaving you less to pack, and less to go out and buy in the shops. Remember, your studio doesn’t include bedding, so as a minimum consider ordering your bedding pack directly from us for the perfect first night’s sleep!
Is there a TV in my room?
Yes! Every studio and apartment (other than Building 9 in Manchester and our Lite apartments) is fitted with a flat screen SMART TV. The TV comes complete with Freeview and the ability to download apps once connected to your super-fast Wi-Fi! If however, you have booked one of our Building 9 apartments or Lite studios, these do not have a TV within each room as there is a large one in the shared kitchen / living room area or our mini-hubs.
Is there WiFi in the building?
All our buildings offer a superfast Wi-Fi connection which allows you to stay connected wherever you are in the building; in your studio, around the Residence or in the hub space.
You will also have your own individual private & secure personal wireless network. Unlike services at other providers, not only can you connect each of your devices to the internet but you can also enable 10 personal SMART devices to discover and connect to each other. This means that you can share content between your SMART devices in a private and secure way just like you would in a traditional home setting and you can do it safe in the knowledge that nobody else in the building can connect to them.
How fast is the internet connection in the building?
All our buildings offer a superfast Wi-Fi connection. Wireless speeds are up to 150Mbps in Manchester Circle Square, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Birmingham Pebble Mill, Leeds St Albans, Newcastle Strawberry Place, Southampton Portswood House, and York. Wireless speeds are up to 100Mbps in Bristol, Exeter, Manchester First Street, Liverpool, Southampton Richmond House, Sheffield and Newcastle Westgate. Wired Internet speeds (available in all buildings except Edinburgh, Birmingham Pebble Mill and Leeds St Albans) are up to 350Mbps.
You may find your broadband speed varies during the time of day, for example during the peak time of 7pm – 11pm or there may be other factors affecting your speed (e.g uploads running in the background, security features performing scans etc). At check-in you will receive details on how to contact our internet provider, ASK4 directly so that they can troubleshoot any problems you may have.
What happens if there is a breakage or problem with my room?
You can log all maintenance issues from the comfort of your own room using the Vita Student APP! Simply log a ticket, add a picture if you wish and the onsite Facilities Manager will respond as soon as possible. You can also come downstairs and speak to your residence team who will be happy to help.
Is there a common room?
One of the best things about living with Vita Student is the amazing communal space that is open for all residents to enjoy. There is incredibly comfortable seating, pool tables, cinema areas and private study spaces that are all perfect for you to enjoy on your own or in groups.
We also hold regular events in the communal space hosted by the residence teams. If you have a suggestion, let us know and we’ll make it happen!
Will I get a cleaner?
A fortnightly clean of your studio is part of the service at Vita Student! Our brilliant housekeeping team will provide a 20 minute clean of your floor, kitchen worktop surfaces and en-suite to keep things clean for you. We do this to ensure your room is kept in the very best condition throughout the year and to minimise the damage. However, they will not tidy your belongings or wash your dishes to respect your privacy.
If you would like to book in additional deep cleans, please speak to a member of the management team who can discuss the options with you and book in an additional clean at a time to suit you.
The housekeeping team will also clean all communal areas but are not responsible for throwing away your rubbish, so please be mindful and respect the building.
Due to Covid 19, housekeeping bookings must be made online in advance using our simple booking system. An email will be sent to you when your housekeeper is due to visit so please keep an eye out for your email prompt. This is to ensure the safety of both staff and students before we enter your room to carry out a clean.
Do I have to supply my own food?
Yes, except for your breakfast every weekday!
A Grab and Go breakfast is available Monday to Friday in the reception area so make sure you take advantage of the free coffee, muffins, pastries, and/or fresh fruit available only at Vita Student. Each day the menu is different which gives you a great variety of options to give you the perfect start to your day!
When it comes to lunch and dinner, there are plenty of local supermarkets to get foods from around the world so be adventurous with your cooking and if you have any leftovers, please feel free to share with the residence team!
Can my friend store their belongings in my room?
Only your belongings are covered by the insurance policy, so to ensure that all belongings are insured we would advise that you do not act as your friend’s storage facility.
Can I have guests to stay / visit?
We do allow guests to stay overnight for up to two consecutive nights but they will need to sign in with the residence team at reception and cannot have their own key fob. Any guests must be with you at all times and cannot be left alone in your room – this is due to only you as the resident being fully aware of our health and safety processes and policies.
Please contact the Customer Engagement Team on customerengagement@vitastudent.com if you would like to add an additional occupant to your booking. Please state your booking reference (VITA REF), the additional occupants’ name and the date the additional occupant would like to move in and out on the email.
Is insurance included in my license fee?
Yes – we have partnered with Endsleigh the No 1 student insurance provider, who provide contents insurance up to £7,000 for belongings kept inside your studio at no extra cost to you.
It is important all students confirm their cover to ensure you understand what is and isn’t covered. Plus, you’ll also be entered into a prize draw specifically for Vita Student residents, courtesy of Endsleigh.
Is your accommodation suitable for mature students?
Absolutely! You can enjoy the privacy of your own studio without having to share a kitchen but can enjoy the social aspect of living in a development with fantastic communal space!
Are there specific times of the day that I can move in?
You can move in from 10am on the date that your contract starts. Our team will be in the residence 24/7 so you can move in any time, day or night after your contract begins. However, to make sure you have the best in experience possible, it’s always advised that you book a move in appointment so that we can ensure everything is ready for you.
How safe is my room?
Your room is very safe – all door entry is key fobbed, we have CCTV and our on-site staff are available at reception or patrolling the building 24 hours a day. Their job is to protect you and the building at all times.
Can I smoke in my room?
No. As per UK Legislation, it is against the law to smoke indoors. Also, per your Licence agreement, it is not permitted to smoke inside any Vita Student building. There are designated smoking areas at each of the developments which you are welcome to use.
Where can I store my bike?
We have bike storage spaces at all of our residences so please feel free to bring it with you!
Can I bring my car?
All our developments are in fantastic city centre locations that are close to the University and have great links to public transport. We also have to consider the impact on the environment when building our developments and because of this, the great location and the links to transport, we have not provided car parking spaces at any of our developments.
There are also some residences (e.g. Exeter) where you are strictly prohibited from parking a car to within 1.5km of the residence.
Please check the terms carefully and contact your Residence Team on hello@vitastudent.com if you have specific car requirements. Please state your booking reference (VITA REF) and building you are moving into on the email.
Can family and friends bring their cars when they come to visit?
All our developments have public car parks located close by. Please contact your Residence Team on hello@vitastudent.com and we will be able to recommend the best option for you. Please state your booking reference (VITA REF) and building you are moving into on the email.
Do you have a gym?
Yes – our gyms are open 24/7 and are completely free to use for all our residents. There is a mixture of cardio machines, weights and a multi-gym available to use whenever you want! Weekly fitness classes are also included as part of your rent and these vary from dance classes, to HIIT workouts and Cardio sessions.
Who should I contact if I have a problem with the internet?
You can either speak to one of the residence team on site, log a maintenance ticket or speak to our Internet Provider Ask4. Their technical support number is 0114 303 3232 and they have specially trained staff that will be able to help as soon as possible.
Where do I wash my clothes?
All our residences have an on-site laundry room with washing and drying machines where you’ll simply pay ad hoc for any washing or drying you need. Aside from Sheffield where laundry is included as part of your rent.
The laundry rooms are open 24 hours a day.
Is detergent provided?
Detergent is not provided as standard but in some residences we do have detergent available to purchase. You will be able to speak to your residence team when you move in to understand if detergent is required. You can contact them at reception or using the Vita Student app.
What are the unacceptable electronic items and why do Vita Student have them?
Any electrical items brought in to be used in Vita Student must have a UK plug and not work via an adaptor. Here at Vita Student the security, safety and satisfaction of every resident is our top priority. With that in mind, we’ve created a list of electronic items that we ask you not to bring with you to help us reach this goal.
Please find the full list below:
