2020 Tulsa Remote Program Terms and Conditions
By Submitting an application to Tulsa Remote, LLC’s 2020 Remote Tulsa Program (“Program”), you acknowledge reading and understanding the following:
Program Terms and Incentive:
1. The 2020 Program Term shall consist of twelve (12) consecutive months.
3. Recipient Requirements: Recipients are required to:
a. be physically present in the City of Tulsa 75% of the Program Term;
b. pick up the monthly checks in person;
c. abide by the Program’s code of conduct and anti-harassment policy in addition to other terms and conditions; and
d. sign and abide by the Program Contract.
As of the date of submittal of the application, a Program applicant must be:
1. A natural person and legal resident of the United States residing outside Oklahoma (proof of residency will be required);
2. At least 18 years of age; and
3. Self-employed or employed full-time by a company located outside Oklahoma that will allow the applicant to reside in the City of Tulsa, Oklahoma for the Program Term (proof of employment will be required).

1. Some applicants will be chosen by Program officials to be interviewed.
2. Participation in the interview and providing proof of employment and income are conditions of being selected as a Recipient.
3. Applicants selected for interviews will be notified via email.
4. Interviews will be conducted via the Internet except as otherwise agreed by Program officials.
5. Individual Assessments conducted by a third party may be included in the selection process, and are optional.
Other Program Terms and Conditions:
1. “Program Terms and Conditions” means the Program Terms and Incentive, Eligibility, Application and Selection Process sections of this website (above), these “Other Program Terms and Conditions”, the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy on this website, the terms of the Program Contract, all policies and procedures published in any manner by Tulsa Remote, LLC on this website or otherwise and any other terms and conditions imposed by Tulsa Remote, LLC relating to the Program.
2. By completing and submitting an application, you: (a) represent and warrant that (i) you have read, and agree to be bound by, the Program Terms and Conditions; (ii) you are eligible to apply for the Program, and (iii) all of the information provided as part of your application is accurate; (b) consent to the use of your name and/or likeness by Tulsa Remote, LLC for promotional purposes (whether online, in print or through any other media now known or hereafter developed), without additional compensation or authorization unless prohibited by law; (c) agree to be bound by the interpretation of the Program Terms and Conditions made by Tulsa Remote, LLC and all decisions made by Tulsa Remote, LLC are final in all matters relating to the Program; (d) agree THIS IS NOT AN APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT; (e) agree that submitting an application does not entitle you to any incentive or consideration whatsoever and that a Program Contract must be signed by you and Tulsa Remote, LLC before any Program Incentive payments will be made; and (f) agree to release and hold harmless Tulsa Remote, LLC, its parent(s) and affiliates and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents (the “Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation or application in the Program or receipt or use of any incentive, including, but not limited to: (i) any technical errors that may prevent an applicant from submitting an entry; (ii) unauthorized human intervention in the Program; (iii) printing errors; (iv) lost, late, postage-due, misdirected, or undeliverable mail or email; (v) errors in the administration of the Program or the processing of applications; or (vi) injury, death, or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from participating in the application and selection process or being a Recipient in the Program.
3. A Recipient’s rights and obligations under the Program are not assignable, transferable or descendible by Recipient.
4. The Program Incentive paid to Recipients is income. No tax withholdings of any kind shall be made and Recipients will receive an IRS Form 1099. It is the responsibility of Recipients to report the income to the appropriate state and federal tax authorities and to pay any taxes due on such income.
5. THIS PROGRAM IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED OR RESTRICTED BY LAW.

What is Tulsa Remote?
When did Tulsa Remote begin?
Tulsa Remote launched in November 2018 in an effort to recruit a diverse group of talented professionals across multiple industries to relocate and be a part of the existing growth happening in Tulsa.
How are applicants selected?
The Tulsa Remote team reviews each application. Video interviews are conducted with each finalist selected. If the finalist has no previous experience with Tulsa, an in-person visit may be scheduled.
Who is the ideal candidate for this program?
The ideal candidate for Tulsa Remote is a fully-employed individual with the flexibility to work anywhere, who does not currently reside in Oklahoma or work for a company based in Oklahoma, and is looking for a community to call home. While the program is only a one-year commitment, the ideal candidate is open to calling Tulsa their home long-term.
What types of incentives are program participants receiving?
Is Tulsa Remote offering jobs to the people who apply?
No. Tulsa Remote does not offer employment of any kind. It is intended for individuals who are already employed outside of Oklahoma and are able to keep their position when relocating to Tulsa.
Can couples/families apply?
Absolutely. Any individual who meets the eligibility criteria is welcome to apply, even if they are members of the same family or have a relationship with one another. For application purposes, all domestic partners/family members must apply in the same two-week calendar period. For example, if John Doe applies on September 1st, his partner must apply no later than September 14th to be considered.
I don’t currently work remotely, but I can transition to remote work in my current role. Can I apply?
Yes. Any individual who is able to work remotely may apply. For applicants that need to transition to remote work from a non-remote position, Tulsa Remote may require confirmation that they are able to work remotely.
I already live in Oklahoma. May I apply?
Tulsa Remote is intended for individuals who reside outside of Oklahoma at the time of application.
Can I still apply if I just recently moved to Tulsa?
No. However, we would love to include you in the growing remote ecosystem in Tulsa. Please click here to add yourself to the list of locals excited to get involved.
I work remotely for an Oklahoma-based company. Do I still qualify?
No. Tulsa Remote is intended for individuals who work remotely for an organization that is not based in Oklahoma.
Are there any age restrictions to apply for the Tulsa Remote program?
Individuals must be at least 18 years of age to apply. In 2019, Tulsa Remote participants’ ages ranged from 22 to 64.
Can I apply if I’m not a US citizen?
Individuals from outside the U.S. are eligible to apply, so long as they are permanent residents who possess a green card. Tulsa Remote is not able to aid in the acquisition or approval of such credentials (work visas, etc.).
If selected for the program, do I have to live in Tulsa?
Yes. Those selected for the program must live within Tulsa city limits. The city limits do not include surrounding areas such as Bixby, Broken Arrow, Sand Springs, Sapulpa, or Jenks.
If selected for the program, do I have to live downtown?
No. While there are many housing options available downtown, participants are free to live anywhere within the Tulsa city limits, including purchasing or renting single-family homes.
I’ve never been to Tulsa and want to visit before I make the move. What are my options?
Check out the Visit Tulsa page of our website. Anyone can schedule a Guided Tour at their convenience. Once you’ve been accepted into the program and completed the required verification steps, you’ll receive information about the option to join us in Tulsa for a self-guided or hosted visit.
If selected for the program, how soon can I move?
The program requires selected participants to move within 12 months of being accepted and completing the required verification steps.
Can I apply if I’m already in the process of buying a house/signing a lease in Tulsa?
You’ll need to be able to demonstrate that you began the Tulsa Remote application process prior to purchasing a home or signing a lease.
Does Tulsa Remote assist with housing?
Tulsa Remote provides resources to help finalists discover and secure suitable housing before they move to Tulsa, including a new housing portal.
What exactly is remote work, anyway?
Tulsa Remote is designed for individuals who have full-time remote employment with a company outside of Oklahoma. The term “remote employment” refers to individuals who do not have to physically travel into their place of work on a daily basis. For Tulsa Remote members, that means individuals are working for a company located outside of Oklahoma. Often, this is referred to as “working from home” or “telecommuting.”
I work for a rideshare or delivery service like Lyft or Doordash. Am I eligible to apply?
No. Rideshare services such as Lyft and Uber, and delivery services such as Grubhub and DoorDash, are not considered full-time remote employment.

What is the Tulsa Remote homeownership initiative?
How does the homeownership initiative work?
To receive the full cash grant towards a home purchase, accepted members must purchase an owner-occupied residential property in Tulsa and will receive a single lump-sum upon the home purchase.
What criteria have to be met to be eligible for the homeownership program?
To be eligible, accepted members must follow these general prerequisites:
The home purchased must be a residential property located within the City of Tulsa.
The home must serve as the primary residence for the applicant for a period of at least 1 year from the time of closing.
The home can not serve – in whole or in part – as an income-producing property for at least one year from the time of closing.
The accepted applicant must be named on the deed to the property.
